Instagram & social content in brief
- What is Instagram and Social Content Strategy?
- An editorial system for Instagram and adjacent social channels, planned, produced and repurposed so the calendar survives a normal working week.
- Who is this for?
- Founder-led consumer and D2C brands; Founders building a visible personal brand; Marketing teams without an editorial lead; Consultancies and studios.
- What does the engagement include?
- Channel role definition, what Instagram is for in your mix, what it should not be used for, and how it connects to search, site and sales conversations.; Audience and format plan, who you are reaching and which formats they actually watch: reels, carousels, stories, static posts, or a deliberate subset.; Editorial calendar, a rolling four-week calendar mapped to themes and business moments, built with you rather than generated in bulk.; Content pillars and scripts, three to five recurring themes with hooks, structures and scripts for short-form video where it is used.; Repurposing system, a documented pipeline for turning one substantial asset (an article, a talk, a podcast, a customer conversation) into a month of derivative content.; Production workflow, shot lists, capture days, review gates and approval routing, sized to the time your team genuinely has.; Optional ongoing management, planning, scheduling, community response and reporting on a monthly cycle where offered..
- How long does it take?
- 3 weeks for the strategy, pillars and calendar. Production and management, where retained, run monthly with a review each quarter.
- What does it cost, and how is it priced?
- Quoted in writing after the audit. Price follows scope: how many people the narrative has to cover, how many surfaces need rebuilding, and how much drafting Elvare does compared with your own team. There is no public rate card, because a single profile rebuild and a multi-principal programme are not comparable products.
- Where is it delivered?
- Remote-first across India in IST working hours, with optional in-person working sessions where they materially improve the outcome. Every deliverable is written, so approval never depends on being in a meeting.
What you get
The engagement, item by item
Every deliverable is written down before work starts, so scope disputes have somewhere to go.

Instagram as an editorial problem, not an algorithm problem
Most Instagram advice begins with the platform: what format is currently favoured, what length, what posting time, which audio.
That is the wrong place to start, and it is why most content programmes look active while producing nothing measurable. Algorithms change quarterly. The question that does not change is: what does this channel need to be for, given who you are trying to reach?
We answer that first. Sometimes the answer is that Instagram should be your primary channel. Sometimes it is that it should be a supporting channel feeding LinkedIn and your site, and you should publish less on it than you currently do. Both are valid outcomes of a strategy engagement.
What the engagement covers
1. Channel role definition
Instagram is assigned a job: discovery, credibility, community, product education, or founder visibility. The role determines the formats, the cadence and what “working” looks like, and it is written down, so nobody is judging a credibility channel against acquisition metrics six months later.
2. Audience and format plan
Who you are reaching, and which formats they actually watch. The honest version of this usually means doing fewer things: reels or carousels or stories as the backbone, not all three at maximum effort.
| Format | Best used for | Production cost |
|---|---|---|
| Short-form video (reels) | Reach beyond your followers, personality, demonstration | High, capture, audio, edit |
| Carousels | Teaching, frameworks, saving and sharing | Medium, design plus writing |
| Stories | Continuity, behind-the-scenes, low-stakes presence | Low |
| Static posts | Portfolio, announcements, visual identity | Low to medium |
3. Editorial calendar
A rolling four-week calendar mapped to your content pillars and to real business moments, launches, hiring, events, seasonal peaks.
Every entry has an owner and an effort estimate. That detail decides whether the calendar gets used.
4. Content pillars and scripts
Three to five recurring themes, each with hook patterns and structures for short-form video. A script is not a teleprompter text, it is the shape: what the first two seconds promise, what the middle delivers, what the last frame asks for.
5. Repurposing system
The single highest-leverage part of this engagement.
One substantial asset
├── carousel summarising its argument
├── 2–3 short clips at the moments worth rewatching
├── text post expanding the point that had to be cut
└── story sequence linking back to the source
You stop starting from a blank page. A talk, a podcast episode, a long article or a customer conversation becomes a fortnight of material.
6. Production workflow
Shot lists, capture days, review gates and approval routing, sized to the hours your team actually has rather than an idealised content operation.
7. Optional ongoing management
Planning, scheduling, community response within agreed boundaries, and monthly reporting where retained.
What this is not for
- Growth hacks. Follower buying, engagement pods, giveaway loops and undisclosed paid promotion. They violate platform terms, they are detectable, and they corrupt your audience data so badly that later reporting becomes meaningless.
- Guaranteed reach. Nobody controls distribution. We commit to a process and a cadence, and we report honestly on what it produced.
- Brands with nothing to show. If the underlying work is unremarkable, no editorial system will make it interesting. We will say so.
How we measure
Aligned to the channel role agreed in week one:
- Consistency, calendar adherence, which is the leading indicator for everything else
- Retention and completion, whether people watch or read to the end, a better quality signal than impressions
- Saves and shares, the strongest available signal that content was useful
- Audience composition, whether the people engaging are the people you defined
- Attribution, profile visits to site clicks to conversations, reported as a range because cross-device journeys are not trackable with certainty
We do not report reach as a business result.

Fit
How to tell whether this is the right engagement
Most of the value of a consulting relationship is decided before it starts. These are the questions we ask ourselves on a discovery call.
- You have genuine expertise or a real body of work to build on.
- You can give at least one hour a month of senior attention.
- You want a position you can defend, not maximum reach.
- You are willing to measure honestly, including the misses.
- You need guaranteed rankings, leads or follower counts.
- The plan depends on engagement pods or undisclosed promotion.
- There is no capacity to publish anything consistently.
- You are looking for a substitute for product-market fit.
